Monument in the News: Palisades Village Reopens After $100 Million Restoration

Monument Home Builders was featured in CoStar News on August 13, 2026, in reporting on the reopening of Palisades Village — the commercial center of a community our team has been rebuilding since the January 2025 fire.

What the Reporting Covered

CoStar reported that Palisades Village reopened following a $100 million restoration, with more than 40 boutiques and restaurants returning. New tenants include Nancy Silverton's Spacca Tutto steakhouse and Alphabet Bar & Grill, and the farmers market returned on August 19.

The same reporting put the residential rebuild in context: nearly 20 months after a fire that destroyed 5,500 homes, only 34 homes were listed as completed across 4,110 total parcels.

Our Take

A rebuild is never only a construction decision. It is also a question of whether the community you are returning to will be there when you get back. Against 34 completed homes out of 4,110 parcels, a fully reopened commercial center is one of the few concrete signs of the Palisades coming back as a place to live rather than a place to rebuild.
